Doom / Black Metal – 3rd album – Sevan Mater release

    Limited to 1000 copies
Re-issue for the third album by thus black-doom/depressive/atmospheric Black Metal band from Italy, formed in 2005. Special deluxe packaging: triple gatefold 7” format (18 cm x 18 cm).
The third album of the Italian horde Vollmond “Wolves in Turmoil” offers extremely intense and various black metal. A mixture of black metal and death metal, and even then, the death metal component is rather manifested due to the thick sound.
Meanwhile, the vocals on “Wolves in Turmoil” (bassist Nefastvm is responsible for the vocals now) are mostly sustained in the spirit of the modern black metal traditions: the vocals are very hateful and overwhelmed here.
Vollmond’s black metal also demonstrates the dominance of modern tendencies, this is clear from the very first song, although these Italians remember old-school black metal very often in their songs. You can even say that Vollmond belong to those few bands that managed to find a middle ground between old school and modern trends in black metal.
Vollmond’s music has taken place in the songwriting part: the riffs have become more varied, they are matched close to each other.
The band’s main songwriter, guitarist Peter, not only kept his manner of a constantly varying tempo and guitar techniques, but also made this change even more intense.
The tempo changes several times in the piece, and as a rule, tremolo picking and plucking techniques constantly alternate, while downstroke picking and strumming ones are used less often. Drummer A. Mond’s work deserves a special mention: his energy is constantly overwhelming. Hightly Recommended!
