Widely regarded as one of the early pioneers of Death/Doom Metal in Brazil, Pentacrostic emerged from São Paulo in December 1989, carving a name for themselves within a growing and diverse underground scene. Their rare second album — recorded in April 1995 and originally released in 1996 — finally receives its long-awaited definite CD re-release through Caverna Abismal Records. Brazil, a land better known globally for samba, is also the birthplace of some of the most distinctive and varied metal in South America, with bands spanning from Death and Thrash to Doom, and Power Metal. Pentacrostic stand as a testament to that legacy, delivering a uniquely heavy and atmospheric blend that solidified their role in shaping the region’s extreme metal identity.
